Work hours: Part Time, 24 Hours, Days

Here's What You Need

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Medical Technology or related field OR

• Master's Degree in Public Health required

• Mater's Degree in Public Health preferred

• 3 years of experience in acute care hospital, alternative care setting (Rehab, LTC, SNU), or infectious disease epidemiology required AND

• 3 years of Supervisory experience in Infection Prevention (as IP Program Manager or IP Manager preferred

• RN - Registered Nurse if Bachelor's Degree in Nursing upon hire required OR

• MT(ASCP) - Medical Technologist if Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Medical Technology or Biology upon hire required OR

• M(ASCP) - Microbiology if Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Medical Technology or Biology upon hired required AND

• CIC - Certification in Infection Prevention and Control within 3 years required

• CIC - Certification in Infection Prevention and Control highly preferred

What You Will Do

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team in development of an annual IP plan, based on population(s) served and services provided; Collect/analyze data to assess the effectiveness of the IP plan and modifies as needed

• Utilize epidemiological principles to conduct surveillance and leads outbreak investigations

• Design and provide educational programs based on the needs of staff, patients, students, and visitors

• Conduct IPC rounds, based on annual and periodic risk assessments, to ensure compliance with IPC standards and regulatory requirements

• Assess the risk of occupational exposures to infectious disease and recommends strategies for prevention

• Contribute to antimicrobial stewardship (AS) efforts by identifying and detecting MDROs among the population served, reporting surveillance trends over time, using surveillance data, and analyzing antibiograms.
